WRITE TO YOUR MS: Oppose the anti-boycott law
This is an action specifically for Welsh residents to write to their elected Member of Senedd. Am y fersiwn Gymraeg cliciwch yma.
The 'Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) bill' or anti-boycott Bill has passed its second reading in the House of Commons on 3rd July and has now progressed to committee stage.
The Bill seeks to limit the ability of public authorities to make ethical choices about spending and investment and will affect local councils, universities, and the Welsh Government. It could have huge impact on areas of devolved power and encroach on the powers of the Senedd, for example by trampling on the ethical commitments contained within Social Partnership and Public Procurement (Wales) Act.
IT MUST BE OPPOSED. Write to your MS now to demand they speak out publicly against the provisions of this Bill, withhold legislative consent when the motion comes before the Senedd and urge their colleagues in the UK Parliament to vote against the Bill at third reading.
