The Palestinian village of Khan al-Ahmar is now facing imminent demolition.

Now is the time for action! The British Government have joined the international community in condemning Israeli demolitions and illegal settlements - but this is not enough. Khan al-Ahmar is only one of 46 Palestinian communities in central West Bank that Israel wants to forcibly transfer to make way for illegal Jewish-only settlements.

Please take action to protect the Palestinian village of Khan al-Ahmar. Israel is poised to demolish the entire West Bank village, which Amnesty International has described as a war crime. The UK must collectively hold Israel accountable for this continued hostility.
It is also becoming clear that British companies, such as JCB Limited, are involved in the impending demolition of Khan al-Ahmar. This will put them in <a href="https://lphr.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/LPHR-second-letter-re-Khan-Al-Ahmar-JCB-involvement-24-Sept-2018-Final.pdf">breach of their human rights responsibilities</a>, and may amount to aiding and abetting a war crime. Please let me know what action is being taken to ensure suitable guidelines are given to British companies, and in particular JCB Limited, to inform them of their legal responsibilities and consequences of involvement in the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar.
Khan al-Ahmar is only one of 46 Palestinian communities in central West Bank that Israel wants to forcibly transfer to make way for illegal Jewish-only settlements. Israel's ethnic cleansing of this area is designed to fragment the West Bank and further cut Palestinians off from their capital - Jerusalem.
All Israeli settlements are illegal, and the trade in settlement goods results in the human rights violations and abuse of the Palestinian people. Palestinians in the occupied territories are forcibly removed from their homes, fertile farming land is seized, and the fruit and vegetables produced are then sold in European supermarkets. Now is the time for action.
Israel has not responded to the UK’s soft diplomacy, and will continue to expand settlements unless the international community takes meaningful action. Ireland’s Senate recently voted in favour of a bill banning the importation of products from Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories, paving the way for the country to become the first EU nation to enforce such a ban. The UK must now follow suit.
With these points in mind, can you please:
-      Endorse a complete UK ban on trade with illegal settlements, including for both goods and services.
-      Emphasise to British companies their legal responsibilities and consequences of aiding and abetting Israeli crimes.
-      Apply decisive political, diplomatic and economic pressure on the Israeli authorities to halt the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar.
