The steps outlined this week by the Foreign Secretary are woefully inadequate. Without further action, they will maintain Britain’s complicity in Israel’s genocide and many more Palestinians will be killed.

The government has refused to stop exporting weapons and components used by Israel in its genocidal assault, including parts for F-35 fighter jets used to drop 2000lb bombs on Gaza.  Without introducing a comprehensive and immediate arms embargo, Tuesday’s statement will be recognised as just a last ditch attempt to salvage its reputation as a government that has enabled Israel’s atrocities.
