Palestinians have called for a boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 because of the refusal of its organisers, the European Broadcasting Union, to expel genocidal Israel from the competition. As part of the call to boycott, Palestinians have asked all artists to withdraw.

Israel’s inclusion in Eurovision provides a stage for it to cover up its ongoing war crimes against Palestinians by cynically presenting itself as fun and light in an international arena.

Responding to the Palestinian call to boycott the event, over 450+ queer artists, activists and organisations have signed an open letter to the UK's contestant, Olly Alexander, asking him to withdraw. The letter calls on him to "commit not to perform at Eurovision while it provides cultural cover for an ongoing genocide."

We, the undersigned, add our voices and ask Olly Alexander to heed the Palestinian call to withdraw from the Eurovision Song Contest 2024.
